Stan Sakai's USAGI YOJIMBO: SENSO Mini-Series is Here!
Any self-respecting comic book fan has had to have come across writer/artist Stan Sakai’s USAGI YOJIMBO series at some point over the past 30 years! Heck, I’d even let you get away with just mentioning his short-lived TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES crossover that included a sweet action figure in their popular 90’s toy line. What a great toy! A Samurai sword-wielding rabbit!
In any case, there is no denying the impact Sakai has had in the comic book world and it’s time we all pay tribute and celebrate Usagi’s 30th anniversary. And what better way to celebrate than a brand new mini-series by the legend himself! The new series is called USAGI YOJIMBO: SENSO and will consist of 6 action-packed issues that may not be what fans expected. I’ll let this synopsis from DARK HORSE explain:

While I would never have guessed this premise, it sure does sound like a lot of fun and you can bet your katana-slicing behind that I’ll be reading this new series! Sakai looks to be in top form here offering up some beautiful artwork which will hopefully be complimented by a fun story.
USAGI YOJIMBO: SENSO #1 (of 6) hits stands this week with a large collection called THE USAGI YOJIMBO SAGA Vol. 1 collecting some of the original stories due out in October. Definitely something to look forward to.
