And the Stellar SCOTT PILGRIM HC Color Editions Keep Coming!
I’m kind of a backwards SCOTT PILGRIM fan. Back in the day I read a chunk of the original black & white volumes and wasn’t really impressed. It wasn’t until the masterfully directed film adaptation by Edgar Wright that my little nerd heart began to swoon with love for this franchise. So in a nutshell, I was content just being a fan of the film and never really wanted to revisit the comic. Until the full color hardcover editions came out that is. These special editions are truly beautiful, and really shows the us that SCOTT PILGRIM was born to take advantage of full-on color. Everything this series has to offer is heightened by glorious color! I think that’s what drew me to the film so much. The characters, the action, the pop-culture references, and the world just makes a lot more sense in full color. Basically what I’m saying is that if you never gave this book a chance (or did and want something fresh), than you should definitely give these color hardcover editions a shot.
This week sees the release of the fifth volume out of six continuing the adventures of Mr. Pilgrim and friends as he battles his girlfriend’s evil ex boyfriends (and one girlfriend). Check out the synopsis for volume 5:
