FBP Volume 3 Not Only Rhymes But is Out This Week!
The artist formerly known as COLLIDER is at it again with FBP: FEDERAL BUREAU OF PHYSICS Volume 3 which collects issues #14-#19 of Vertigo’s fun as hell series. For those of you out of the (time?) loop, FBP is an ongoing comic book series by writer Simon Oliver set in a world where disturbances and distortions in the laws of physics are just another day at the office. The government creates an organization (the FBP duh!) to handle said disturbances and all kinds of fun and frantic shananagans ensue.
This time around mainstay artist Robbi Rodriguez is MIA, and while I think he is a huge factor in why I love this book so much, Oliver’s writing and newcomer Alberto Ponticelli (on art duty) can hold down the fort. The concept, characters and story in this book is just so much fun that I’ll stick around for the long haul. Here’s a little bit about this third collected volume:
Every journey starts with a single step. Cicero’s started when he crashed into a TV repair shop and eventually landed in the FBP Academy. This new trade paperback collects FBP issues #14 to 19, written by Simon Oliver, with art by Alberto Ponticelli and with cover artwork by Nathan Fox.
It would be wise to catch up on this book if you are not already, and the affordable softcover collections are just what the doctor ordered!
And on a sidenote, FBP has been picked up by Warner Bros. for the Hollywood treatment. Seeing this book properly adapted on the big screen could be bonkers…in a good way. Just saying, this one is with a look. If Warner Bros. think so, so should you…or something like that.
