Buying SPIDER-MAN #1 This Week Will Make You Cool Again

Let’s get something straight right away. DO NOT be afraid to get this comic if you have never read any ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN books starring the young Miles Morales. This is where you want to start in the post SECRET WARS Marvel Universe. The latest Marvel mini-series rewrote the rules and rebooted the entire universe. Basically, Marvel has hand picked their most popular characters such as Old Man Logan, Female Thor, and Miles Morales as Spider-Man to star in new books and become the new face of Marvel. While hardcore fans may be a bit frustrated, there has arguably never been a better time to jump into Marvel comics for newcomers.

There surely is a lot to choose from on comic shelves lately. And if super heroes are your thing, it’s a pretty safe bet that SPIDER-MAN #1 written by Brian Michael Bendis with art from Sara Pichelli is a book you will want to take notice of. All the cool kids are doing it. It should serve as a great gateway book to get back into comics. Here’s a taste of what to expect.

Miles Morales has been doing the super hero thing for a while, now, but after SECRET WARS, he’ll be a full-fledged member of the Marvel Universe. Swinging next to The Invincible Iron Man, The Mighty Thor and the All-New Captain America as a card-carrying member of the Avengers is an adventure, but it’s not all fun and games for New York City’s main Spider-MAN! What happened in the eight month gap? It all starts in SPIDER-MAN #1!

Something to note here is that Miles isn’t the only Spider-Man in town. Yes, old Peter Parker is also swinging around to make things interesting. Oh, and so is Spider-Gwen (my favorite!). Since Parker is much older in this universe, it’s great having a wise-cracking kid suit up. It feels classic and fresh at the same time!

SPIDER-MAN #1 lands this week so grab it whilst its hott!
