Andrew Maclean’s HEAD LOPPER is the Real Deal Folks

I don’t know a lot of things about the grand mysteries of life, but with a name like “Head Lopper” I know for damn sure that I need to be reading every issue of this new (ish) comic from writer/artist Andrew Maclean.

For those out-of-the-know, HEAD LOPPER is an epic action/adventure tale that will be releasing 4 oversized volumes quarterly in what is sure to be one hell of an experience.  Basically our beefy hero Norgal traverses the lands with the severed head (and yes, it’s still “alive”) of Agatha Blue Witch who grunts and moans whilst Norgal takes down horrific beasts, meets dangerous foes, and basically kicks everything’s ass he comes across.This is an engrossing book in a Saturday-morning-cartoon-for-adults kind of way that is just bursting with color, amazing action sequences, and some truly memorable characters.

Issue #1 released last quarter and it was glorious. Here’s what’s up.
