ALIENS DEFIANCE #1 Lands This Week!

Sure Tuesday may be remembered as “Alien Day”, but Wednesday is where all the action is with the release of a new comic from Dark Horse called ALIENS: DEFIANCE. Brian Wood writes with Tristan Jones on art duty in a comic that is sure to please fans of the franchise. 

Battling demons from her past while fighting for her life, Colonial Marine Private First Class Zula Hendricks, in the company of Weyland-Yutani synthetics, is forced to question her strength and loyalty when the discovery of an insidious alien species on a derelict hauler sends her on a dangerous journey across the stars.

Classic is the name of the game here folks. DEFIANCE is set between the first 2 films in the franchise and stars a new tough as nails heroine in the form of Zula Hendricks. She smells a lot like Ripely believe it or not (see what I did there) and looks to be a great lead for this new adventure. Of course she will be accompanied by those crappy Weyland-Yutani synthetics and of course she discovers a derelict hauler and decides to enter. Fool me once…

Normally I find it hard to recommend comics based on movies these days, but DEFIANCE seems to have all the right elements going for it to make it a success. With nods to ALIEN, ALIENS, and even the recent video game ALIEN ISOLATION, I think fans will feel at home and welcome this new series.

ALIEN: DEFIANCE #1 comes out this week and will run for a total of 12 issues.
