Matt Kindt’s DEPT. H #1 Surfaces This Week!

“Murder six Miles Deep.”

Writer/artist Matt Kindt created something special with MIND MGMT that harvested a huge fanbase. And due to the intricate storytelling and creative art style, his little book the could earned a spot on the New York Times best-selling list among many other accolades. Anyone who picks up MIND MGMT will recognize that it’s something unique and deserving of your time. So it comes as no surprise that Kindt’s next project is on a lot of people’s radar.

Kindt serves as writer and artists for his new ongoing series titled DEPT. H with Sharlene Kindt on color duty. Colorists don’t often get the credit they deserve and Sharlene definitely deserves props for her work in this premiere issue. It’s beautiful and compliments Matt’s art style perfectly.

DEPT. H can be labeled as a lot of things. Noir? Sure. Mystery? Yup there’s a lot of that. Thriller? You bet your water soaked behind. Hmm. Let’s go with “Underwater Science-Fiction Noir Mystery”. Yeah, that has a nice ring to it.

Mia is a special investigator hired to uncover possible sabotage taking place at a deep-sea research station. What she finds is a mind-blowing crime scene filled with suspects with terrible secrets, strange deep-sea creatures, and an impending flood!

Yes, everything about this book and the premiere #1 issue smells like success. This along the lines of BIOSHOCK meets LOST meets something you’ve never seen before and you can get the basic idea. Don’t let DEPT. H slip by this week whilst perusing the comic aisles.
