STAR WARS: CASSIAN & K-2SO One-Shot Lands This Week!
Who’s ready for a prequel to a prequel that could also serve as a sequel!?
That’s right, this week Marvel is releasing a one-shot special called STAR WARS: CASSIAN & K-2SO written by Duane Swierczynski with art by Fernando Blanco. This 40-page story will reveal how Cassian met everyone’s favorite reprogrammed Imperial droid from ROGUE ONE K-2SO.
Cassian Andor is one of the top intelligence agents in the ranks of the Rebel Alliance, ably assisted by his reprogrammed Imperial security droid, K-2SO. But naturally, the two weren’t always on the same side of the Galactic Civil War. Now, for the first time, read the story of the pair’s first contentious meeting! It is very likely not to go well.
There where a lot of wonderful characters in ROGUE ONE, but for me, K-2SO was by far my favorite. I never expected to like the droid more than any other character. And Cassian was definitely a fun and dynamic character that I want to learn more about.
Marvel has been doing an amazing job with their new run of STAR WARS books since the canon reset. They have explored just about every era we are familiar with and then some. It’s great seeing Marvel dip into ROGUE ONE territory and there is most definitely a lot to mine during this part of the timeline. While this is just a one-shot, I hope Marvel gives us more ROGUE ONE goodness down the line. Buying this book will definitely send a message!
