STAR WARS and DARTH VADER Crossover Event VADER DOWN #1 Out This Week!
Let’s get one thing straight…writer Jason Aaron is a bad ass. One of my top comic book writers working today. With amazing titles such as STAR WARS, SOUTHERN BASTARDS, WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN, THOR: GOD OF THUNDER, and WEIRDWORLD under his belt, you better take damn notice when the man tackles a new project.
Hot off the heels of his success with Marvel’s on-going flagship title STAR WARS, Aaron is putting Darth Vader under the microscope in a six-issue mini-series merging his STAR WARS storyline with Marvel’s other on-going book DARTH VADER and calling it VADER DOWN. Here’s a little bit of what you can expect from the premiere issue out this week:
When Darth Vader accidentally finds himself facing off against the Rebel Fleet on his own, the rebels will learn the true strength of the Dark Side of the Force! Once Vader crashes on a nearby planet, the Rebellion is willing to risk everything for this once-in-a-lifetime chance to take out one of their biggest enemies! Luke! Vader! Leia! Aphra! Han! Chewie! And all manner of Droid, good and evil!
Damn…as an avid fan of the new Star Wars books these days, I am uncharacteristically excited about this crossover series. I have greatly enjoyed exploring the time soon after A NEW HOPE but before EMPIRE STRIKES BACK learning new things about my favorite characters. And trust me, there have been some HUGE reveals over the past year that have really surprised me. VADER DOWN seems like a wonderful opportunity to showcase the best of both the books it is crossing over. And pushing Vader into a corner will hopefully showcase his abilities and powers like we have rarely seen before. So yeah, if you can’t tell, I stoked to see what Aaron has up his sleeve for this mini-series.
VADER DOWN crash lands THIS week at the shop! Come on in!
