Party Like It’s X-MEN ‘92

Whether you are excited about Marvel’s current mini-series SECRET WARS or not (I am !!), there is a tie-in book out there that fans of Fox’s X-Men cartoon from the 90′s has to check out. A comic set in that wonderful Jim Lee inspired universe? Yes please! Being an avid comic book reader born in the 80′s and forged in the 90′s means that I’m the target audience for this title. Those costumes, the adventures, the drama, and…well that classic sleazy-ass Gambit that just doesn’t get much love these days is all here for your enjoyment! Remember when the X-Mansion was attacked by Sentinels and nobody could stop it except Cyclops in all his bad-ass glory? Well I do and I hope we get to see some more of that!

The writing team of Chris Sims and Chad Bowers teams up with artist Scott Koblish to recapture the glory days for the X-Men and if the cover above is any indication, we are in for a treat. For those of us mostly non-digital comic readers out there, this week marks the print release of X-MEN ‘92 #1. Here’s a little bit about what to expect from Marvel:

Everyone’s favorite version of the X-Men from the ‘90s is back!
When Baron Kelly charges the Clear Mountain Project and it’s mysterious new director with 'mutant rehabilitation,’ it’s up to the X-Men to investigate! PLUS: Free Range Sentiels?!?

So basically if you are one of those SECRET WARS readers who just sticks to the main arc, now may be the time you break you little money-saving rule. X-MEN ‘92 is arguably the tie-in book I am most excited for and I hope it delivers. Now I’ll be humming that damn intro music them until I see you at the comic shop.

Badda-dadda da da dun, Badda-daaa da dunn!
