FANTASTIC FOUR #1 Is Here to Tide You Over Until 2015's FIlm Reboot
Who knows if the recent casting news for 2015’s FANTASTIC FOUR reboot was purposefully announced to coincide with this comic book release, but all signs point to ‘probably’. Writer James Robinson and artist Leonard Kirk (some kind of weird STAR TREK ode or something!?) team-up to bring us the latest adventures of Marvel’s favorite family unit. Check out Marvel’s plot synopsis to get an idea of where this sci-fi epic is heading:
“THE FALL OF THE FANTASTIC FOUR” PART 1 The world’s greatest comics magazine begins anew with Marvel’s First Family, the Fantastic Four! But as the brilliant MR. As the family of cosmic explorers head towards their darkest hour, who could possibly be behind their downfall? And how is one of their oldest enemies, the sadistic dragon known as Fing-Fang-Foom involved? Prepare for the fantastic!
Sounds exciting to me! In all honestly I don’t have a lot of experience with the FANTASTIC FOUR. I like them alright, and I love the hard science fiction elements to their stories. I’m the kind of fan that actually enjoyed the previous movies (hey, leave me alone!) and really enjoyed the ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR run. I know I know, I’m sure dozens of better stories are out there that I heve yet to read, but ya know what, I think this new FANTASTIC FOUR #1 issue is just what Dr. Richards ordered. A fresh new “jumping-on” point for someone like me who is interested in getting involved with this team again. Sounds like there will be a lot to love for veteran fans as well.
