For April the Book Club will read Chew Vol. 1, which is one the most original concepts I’ve read in a long time. It imagine there’s been a wide-spread avian flu epidemic that’s KILLED MILLIONS. As a result, eating chicken has become illegal, and the FDA has become the premier law-enforcement agency. Series lead Tony Chew is a detective with a very special talent. He’s able to get a psychic reading from anything he eats, a talent he employs by eating a whole host of disgusting things to solve crimes. But that doesn’t even begin to cover the insanity that is Chew!
