STAR WARS: HAN SOLO #1 Mini-Series Begins This Week

Anyone sick of me always gushing over Marvel’s new STAR WARS comic book lineup!? Well too bad! And get use to it ya scruffy nerf herders because I will continue to do so as long as they remain as good as they have been!

Enter HAN SOLO, a new 5-part mini-series featuring your favorite scoundrel and his fuzzy man beast. Writer Marjorie Liu and artist Mark Brooks are about to put the spotlight on Han Solo in what will hopefully be a memorable new adventure.

Everyone’s favorite scoundrel gets his very own series! Han is given a top-secret undercover mission for the Rebellion - rescuing a number of informants and spies. His cover for the assignment? Only the biggest and most infamous starship race in the galaxy! You know - the race Han has dreamt of winning his entire life. Will he keep his mind on the mission? And can he manage to pull it off while keeping the lead? Best-selling author Marjorie Liu (X-MEN) comes to the Galaxy Far, Far Away along with superstar cover artist Mark Brooks (ULTIMATE X-MEN) in his return to interior art! Face it, readers - there aren’t enough scoundrels in your life!

Once again, Marvel is playing it safe and setting this story between A NEW HOPE and EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. While I would love to see them get out of their comfort zone and explore the time between EMPIRE and RETURN OF THE JEDI, I will admit that this time period is especially interesting for Han. Think about it. He just joined up with the Rebels after scoundreling (made up word) around the galaxy doing whatever the hell he pleased. Han is still freshly conflicted here. Will he continue to fight the good fight or will he go back to his thieving ways for just a bit longer? Who knows! But we sure are about to find out and I for one couldn’t be more excited! Young Han rules! Wonder who will hunt him down first? I’m sure he owes money to more than just Jabba.
