Remender’s SEVEN TO ETERNITY #1 Could be the Next “It” Comic

Where were you when THE WALKING DEAD issue #1 came out and why didn’t you buy it? What about SAGA #1, or PAPER GIRLS #1, or MONSTRESS #1? I bet your Image-loving buns wished you woulda picked those up from the get-go right? Well, it’s my humble opinion that we are at one of those moments with rockstar Rick Remender’s latest story SEVEN TO ETERNITY #1 featuring art by Jerome Opena with colors from Matt Hollingsworth.

The God of Whispers has spread an omnipresent paranoia to every corner of the kingdom of Zhal; his spies hide in every hall spreading mistrust and fear. Adam Osidis, a dying knight from a disgraced house, must choose between joining a hopeless band of magic users in their desperate bid to free their world of the evil God, or accepting his promise to give Adam everything his heart desires. Writer RICK REMENDER reteams with collaborators JEROME OPENA (Uncanny X-Force, Fear Agent) and MATT HOLLINGSWORTH (TOKYO GHOST, WYTCHES) to take you on a hard road through the strange fantasy world of Zhal. All men have surrendered their freedom for fear. Now, one last free man must choose.

Anyone currently reading DEADLY CLASS, LOW, BLACK SCIENCE, and/or TOKYO GHOST knows that writer Rick Remender brings the goods. There is no evidence pointing towards SEVEN TO ETERNITY being anything but great. Reminder tackling hard fantasy and magic? Count me in! This first issue in a planned 10-part (but probably more) series is just brimming with intrigue and style. Each page is just gorgeous and the setup here has just the right kind of hook for fans of fantasy.

Do yourself a favor, pick up this #1 issue and be a part of the discussion because I got a funny feeling this is going to be a big one.
