When I first started reading and collecting comic books, there were very few comic books in a book format. Now there are thousands and thousands, both as collections of monthly comic books (commonly called Trade Paperbacks) and comics created specifically for the book format (often called Original Graphic Novels). With so many titles out there already, and more being published every month, it’s become practically impossible for any one store to stock ALL the graphic novels and TPB’s that are available at any one time.

So when I started Mission: Comics & Art, part of my concept was creating a highly “curated” shopping experience, and gather together an inventory of many of the graphic novels that I considered to have the most artistic and literary merit.

After being open a year and half, one consistent complement I hear is an appreciation of the depth and diversity of the collection I’ve assembled.

That said, there’s still many wonderful books I’d like to be able to carry, and I always hate having to tell a customer that I’m out of a particular title.
