New SHE-HULK On-Going Series is About to Get Real!

It’s slowly becoming more common for Marvel to show us their hero’s during their “off hours”…their “in-between” time if you will. What are they all doing when villains aren’t attacking, when damsels (what’s the male equivalent? Mamsels?) don’t need saving, or when the earth just doesn’t need help? Matt Fraction really set a tone for what these types of books should look like with his currently running (and amazing!) HAWKEYE book, and we even get a taste for the Marvel superhero “down-time” in the newest iteration of BLACK WIDOW. Enter SHE-HULK #1 by writer Charles Soule (THUNDERBOLTS) and artist Javier Pulido (ROBIN: YEAR ONE).

You think Daredevil is the only lawyer-hero around? Think again because Jennifer Walter's  can defend the hell out of you too…in more ways than one! This new series chronicles the everyday life of She-Hulk that we’ve all been curious about. Right!? This chick knows how to party, enjoys long walks on the beach, and can likely drink you under the table if instigated. Sounds like my kind of lady…ya know, minus being a huge ass green beast of a woman. It will be fun to see what avenues the creators will go down to keep this book entertaining. A stressful day job, a pile of villains to thwart, and a gaggle of personal issues should keep things interesting enough for those sick of the “battle of the month” mentality of most Marvel books…not that there’s anything wrong with that.

SHE-HULK #1 lands in comic book shops this week and only time will tell if this humorous look at the life of a famous super hero will be worth our hard earned cash each month. I’d say a close look at this premiere issue is at least a good start.
