Graphic Novel Rental Library Now Open
You can rent graphic novels for 70% – 85% off the cover price. For the price of one, you can read 3-4 graphic novels!
Mission: Comics & Art’s graphic novel rental library is now open for business! Thanks to some generous early adopters, the library currently has about 120 books available, including such classics as Watchmen, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns and Black Hole. There’s also quite a few more obscure titles such as Carnet de Voyage, Swallow Me Whole and Finder: Voice.
So how do you rent one of these fabulous books?
You can get a Rental Card for $20, $10 of which is a refundable deposit, and $10 of which buys you 10 POINTS. If you lose a book or it gets damaged, the $10 will cover the loss. If you ever decided to leave the Rental Program, just bring your card back and you get your deposit back.
There are two points to get POINTS:
- You trade in your graphic novels for POINTS. The number of POINTS given will be based on the cover price of the book and the demand, roughly 2-8 POINTS. The books will then join the Rental Library and be available for others to rent.
- You can buy POINTS. $5 = 6 POINTS, $10 = 13 POINTS, $20 = 30 POINTS
HINT: The more you rent, the cheaper it gets!
Also, if you read a graphic novel that you absolutely love, you can buy a BRAND NEW copy at a 30% discount. So don’t worry if your not sure whether to buy or rent. It’s okay to try before you buy.
- You can only rent from the Graphic Novel Library - not monthly comics and not new graphic novels
- At the start, only 1 book can be rented at a time. It you stay in the program longer, you’ll be able to rent 2 books
- But you can keep it for as long as you like. You just won’t be able to rent anything else until it’s returned
Also, this is a brand new program and an experiment of sorts. So please understand if some of this might change in the future.
Thanks,
- Leef
